This is a beautiful print I did for a family in the Barossa Valley. It was a Christmas gift, from wife to husband.
The family planned to get it framed in the new year, but sadly, their farm was burnt in a fire in January. Understandably, the print was left rolled up in the tube as the family dealt with the aftermath of the devastating fire.
So it wasn’t until several months later, they approached a carpenter friend to craft a frame – using some of the ‘not-too-badly burnt’ posts from a fence line on their property.
This is the message I received from the customer …
“This photo shows the end result and we are thrilled with it. And to make it more special, the posts were cut and then dug in by my later father-in-law, many years ago. The completed photo hangs proudly on our wall, and holds layers of meanings for our family.”
